Essential business plans for 188A

Our 188A essential business plans are for those who:

  • have a business idea,
  • an understanding of what business they want to do (and why),
  • and just require a smart and professional write-up, in a succinct way.

It’s suitable for:

  • entrepreneurs who require a succinct, to-the-point business plan for state nomination submission
  • business migrants who already have an existing business or a well-researched business idea and require an exciting write-up for submission to the state nomination

Ideal candidates for the 188a essential business plans are:

  • those with an existing business or
  • those with an existing, comprehensive business plan or
  • those with a well-thought-out business idea or a concept that has clearly been thought through, or
  • those with a straightforward or traditional business idea (such as for a product or a service that already exists in the market)

Please note that essential business plans are not recommended for:

  • those who require multiple phone calls or constant exchange of emails to unravel their circumstances
  • those who require high-level guidance from us to sharpen their business idea
  • those who require innovation and high-level research to ensure the idea can be commercialised, especially tech innovation on an existing concept
  • those who have key parts missing such as revenue model (how the business will work), or a general understanding of their target market or the proposed concept
  • those who require lots of feedback and customisation on the structure or content to make it quite special

If this sounds like you, our standard or premium business plan product is recommended.

Our 188A Business Plan – Essential includes:

  • An executive summary that captures the essence of the entire business idea and plan on one page, describing the market need, proposed activity, business background of the entrepreneur who proposes the idea, funding and contributions to the state economy
  • 5 other sections are:
  1. the proposed business or investment activity which is a one-page description with details on the revenue model, products and services, and an optional additional one-page with graphics or exhibits
  2. a statement of economic benefit to the nominating state, describing the merits of being located there and the proposed business’ expected contributions
  3. a statement of economic viability which is a 1-2 page market research describing the current climate and where the proposed activity is expected to sit, with particular relevance to the nominating state economy
  4. a statement of financial viability with an additional page for graphics or exhibits as relevant detailing the expected costs and financial projections
  5. a 1-2 page narrative of the applicant’s successful business career inclusive of images (if provided)

This document is provided in the Charterdoc business plan template, and is generally 5 – 10 pages in length.

Advantages of the 188A essential business plan

Each section is dealt with in one to two pages so it can be looked over in one view. Our template is designed in font 8, in the landscape format with narrow margins to ascertain maximum content space without feeling too crowded.

The design and the concept behind the essential business plan are broadly modelled after the current ACT state nomination business plan requirement where they require literally the essence of the proposed business, without having to go through pages and pages of narratives that may or may not be operational in the long term.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask for a revision or an expansion after the final draft has been delivered?

Yes, we work in a collaborative environment and would like the BP to be a part of a successful application. If there are any areas you’d like revisited, you will have this opportunity once a final draft has been delivered. Sometimes, if a phone call makes better sense to explain in detail, we can schedule one with the writer to talk through the document.

If the application is refused, do you provide refunds?

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for work delivered.

There are circumstances, however, where the client may choose to apply at a different state using the same business proposal or reapply with a tweak of the existing business plan. In cases such as these, we can quote a special price having regard to the personal circumstances so please get in touch via email at admin@charterdoc.com.au

Do you polish existing business plans? I don’t need a fresh one to be written but the one I have needs improvement.

Yes, the pricing will vary on a case by case basis. Please email us your query and we will provide you with a quote upon review of your unique case.
